18 March 1876 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 18th [March 1876]. Lesson of Esquivel & finished the study I began in October– We rode in the afternoon. Henry dismounted at the Cortès to go & speak to Calderon Collantes and I waited for him. It was very cold & unpleasant. The town is full of country people come up for the Peace fêtes & the streets were full. Canelaux called—also Genl Corona (Mexican Min). I put Nelly to bed before going to the Hatzfeldts in the eveng. | |
