22 June 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 22nd [June 1876]. Wrote till breakfast. Got a note from Css Marcello saying she was coming to breakfast at 12, as she was in from the country for the day. Mr Malcolm & the upholsterer came after breakfast to measure my old red silk to see if there was eno’ to cover the walls of the music room—wh there is– At 2 we went to paint at S. Trovaso till 5 when we came home. Went to Piazza after dinner but it was a rainy eveng. Sat under arcade & had ices. Met Adl Acton who came & sat with us. He speaks English well. He is now adl of the port.
