12 July 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 12th July [1876]. Found it was raining hard when we got up & there was no going to bathe. It cleared in the afternoon & we were able to go out to Salviati & then on to the Montalba’s to arrange for Henry to take them tomorrow to Murano. We went to Guggenheims & borrowed a piece of old work for me to copy an imitation of old lace. Rowed out after dinner but found it so cold that we were glad to come & have some tea & looked over pictures.
