19 July 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 19th [July 1876]. A cloudy hot day with scirocco—very oppressive. Went out at 1 to Academy with Henry, Maffei & Morelli—afterwards went to a cafe for lemonade—then came home. After dinner Mme Marcello called—we went out for a row later & then at 10.30 went to Princess Clary who today began her summer Wedy receptions. Had tea & did not get home till nearly one– | |
