20 July 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 20th July [1876]. Went out with Henry to Favenza to see his shop of antiquities & then fetched Morelli who was calling on Css Brandolini & she came down to the door & was introduced to me & promised to come & see me tomorrow. I then went on to S. Trovaso to go on with my sketch & came home at 5. Admiral Cerruti, Admiral Acton & Mr Malcolm dined with us– We went to the Piazza afterwards I going in the gondola with the 2 admirals. We had red turtle soup for dinner, a present of Mr Malcolms. | |
