26 July 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 26th July [1876]. Painted butterflys. Signor Costa came & brought with him Mr & Mrs Muret (artists) to see our pictures. The Edens came at the same time to bid us adieu. Henry went to Murano to bid the glass blowers good bye. At 2 I went out with Hill & Giovanni to see a wonderful lace counterpane wh G. had heard of. It was fine & had in the centre the Mocenigo arms. We went on to Richetti to see some fine stuff he had got. He was not at home & after waiting some time I went home. Mr Malcolm dined with us. Maffei left us by 7.40 train. The Marcello children came to call.
