17 August 1876 — Eastnor Castle, nr. Ledbury, Herefordshire | |
Thursday. 17th [August 1876]. Went on with the sketch from the library window. There was a cottage flower show in the afternoon. We went down to see it at 5.30. While we were watching Lady Somers giving away the prizes Henry came & told me he had discovered the John Murrays were in the grounds. We found them & took them into the house gave them tea & showed them the rooms. When they were gone as I was returning to the show I found an old woman who had fallen down some steep steps & was a long time helping to bring her round. We found that she had broken no bones but was shaken & bruized. | |
