22 August 1876 — Aldermaston Court, Aldermaston, Berkshire | |
Tuesday. 22nd [August 1876]. Mr Fergusson left early. I let Hill go to town & she went at 11.30 with the Balls. I had a headache & had to go & lie down in the dark all the rest of the day. At 4 Mrs Burr came & brought me tea but I was not able to get up before dinner & even then it was an effort. There were Mrs D. Griffiths & several neighbours at dinner. Mr & Mrs Rolls of the Hendre & Sir Erskine, Lady May & niece came to stay. | |
