25 August 1876 — Aldermaston Court, Aldermaston, Berkshire | |
Friday. 25th [August 1876]. Wrote letters & made Henry play lawn tennis & Bull. Henry, the Rolls & Mrs Burr went to grand party at Silchester. Mr Riaño was ill & I stayed to take care of him. I sketched till 5. & then went in & had tea with Emilia & prescribed for Mr Riaño. We dined very late– There was a dinner party but the Joyces could not get away from their Silchester entertainment & as they came to dine & sleep we had to wait for them. | |
