26 September 1876 — Biarritz | |
Tuesday. 26th [September 1876]. At 9 I & Henry went down to the beach with Henry to see Ida bathe & I played with the Bauer children on the sands & took a walk with Henry. Came home & breakfasted. After breakfast drove to the station so did all the Bauers as they are gone to Paris– Their train went off 20 min: before ours for Madrid. We started at 1.4. It was very hot. Llorente was also in the same train & there was a great crowd of Spaniards returning to Madrid for the winter. I made tea in my machine at 5. We stopped to dine at Miranda. I had my dinner from my basket in the carriage wh we had to ourselves. | |
