12 November 1876 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 12th [November 1876]. Pouring wet day. Henry had a cold & got up late. I went down to the service– Miss Thompson came to afternoon service & sat with me. Had M. & Mme Blumenthal to dine besides the Legation. Ct Hatzfeldt came in eveng. I sang some Spanish songs & M. Blumenthal played when everybody was gone– Albareda came to tea at 5 & stayed 2 hours talking & making Henry explain to him the municipal system of England. | |
