21 December 1876 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 21st [December 1876]. Had another discussion with Hill & she held out a long time—& all at once was seized with a fit of repentance seized my hand & fell on my neck & asked pardon– I painted trying to finish the sketch I am doing for Emilia for Christmas. She came to spend the afternoon with me—Mme de Montebello called. After tea we had a little music. Molony came to call & Emilia went home– Went to the Bauers in evening– There were a great many people—they did quincenas– It was amusing to hear Albareda & Valera. | |
