23 December 1876 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 23rd [December 1876]. Went out walking with Emilia to buy a present for Miss Green & some little Christmas presents. I parted with Emilia in the Calle Montera & we each went to our homes to breakfast. I prepared letters for a text for the church & went down & helped Annie, Hill & Mr Dawson to nail red velvet on the rails before the communion table. At 3 I went off to call on Mme Comyn & then to Mme Bell to leave the fan I gave Miss Green—& fetched Emilia & brought her home with me to help me over the text– The Duke de la Torre called abt 6. | |
