6 February 1877 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 6th [February 1877]. Went out at 10½ to see Naval museum with Emilia– It is at the Ministry of Marine close to our house. As we had sent to say we were coming the Brigadier who is at the head of the Museum came & showed us over it. Interesting things to be seen especially the chart made by Casas for the use of Columbus on his 2nd journey to America; very good models of ships– We were pointed out where a model was missing. It has been sent to the Palace for the King to study naval matters before he starts on his journey round the coast wh is to be next month. Went out driving alone in afternoon. | |
