12 March 1877 — Madrid | |
Monday. 12th March [1877]. Packed for tonights start. Emilia Riaño came to see me before breakfast—later came Clarita, the Duke de la Torre, then Ruiz Gomez—Mme & Miss Ayltons, Bauer, Hatzfeldt & the Duchess de la Torre & Conchita & Leopoldo. We dined at 7 & at 8 went to the station. Fitch & Dawson came to see us off. We had a saloon carriage & were very comfortable tho’ the night was very cold. | |
