| Wednesday. 23rd May [1877]. Messenger left wrote letters all the morning. At 4 Henry & I went out riding & Mr Kennedy. We went by the upper road to the new aquaduct & returned by Buyukdere road & thro’ a lovely wood full of white & mauve asters, a kind of may, orchids & fern. Capt. Fife, Genl Dickson’s ADC dined with us also Hobart Pasha who stayed the night. Mr Fawcett came later. | |
