2 December 1877 — Constantinople
Sunday. 2nd [December 1877]. I stayed in bed till lunch time being very tired. In the afternoon I walked in the garden with Henry where we were joined by Mehemet Bey who came to talk of his friend Ahmet Vefyk’s return from Adrianople—having resigned his post of Wali. The Genl, Mr Jocelyn, Mr Smijth, Mr Sandison, Leveson Gower, Kennedy, the Count, Mr Gay dined—the de Wintons came in after dinner.
