5 January 1878 — Constantinople | |
Saturday. 5th January [1878]. Spent all the morning with Mr Kennedy & Arthur making a list of New Year’s cards to be returned. Ahmet Vefyk P. came to see us & stayed to luncheon. At 3 went out with Mrs de Winton to pay visits & leave cards. Found Mme Zarifi at home. Mme Fernandez called & saw her– We dined quite alone with the Genl & Arthur—& went early to bed– | |
