17 June 1878 — Therapia | |
Monday. 17th [June 1878]. Odessa post brought me a good many letters. Took Mr Guarracino after breakfast to see the cows. It was excessively hot. Henry went to see Safvet P. in the launch. I painted all the morng & again after lunch till nearly 5– Went out & played lawn tennis with Ash: Ken: & Cartwright. Jacub Khan came to pay Henry a visit. Mr Richards & Alvarez (student dragomens) came to dine & sleep. Mr Ken: & Mallet also dined. A few men came in the eveng. | |
