25 June 1878 — Therapia | |
Tuesday. 25th June [1878]. Painted Jerry’s portrait while he did his lessons. Baker P. came to luncheon. M. Fournier & Monsr Binet came & had a conference with Henry & Mr Rassam on the Christians in the East. I went with the admiral & Mr Winsloe in their boat over to Buyukdéré to call on Mme [illegible word] who was not at home. On my return home found Mrs Henry Hanson & Helda. We played tennis till past 6 & Mr Hy Hanson joined us. I & Helda took a walk all round the garden. There was a great row between Jerry & the Cavass & I had to send Jerry off to prison on board the Antelope. Capt. Patterson of Salamis & Mr Kirkness dined with us. | |
