Dr Millingen came to call & I saw him. I wrote a few letters. We dined at 7.30 & had a dinner for the Turks—Safvet P. Vasim P. Mustafa Fosfor P. Ali P. Kiamil Bey, Serkis Effe Savas P. Mukhtar P. Raouf P. Refet P. & the Sultans secy Fuad Bey (?) 11 Turks & besides the M & S. the General, Sandison & Chermside. The Turks were in good humour especially Safvet wh before dinner settled with Henry the Ratification of the Treaty after a long struggle. He said he had been till 5 in the morng at the Council & had hardly slept last night. After dinner some people came & we had a little dance which was over at 12 o’cl: The Turks had a lovely moonlight night to go home. | |
