12 October 1878 — Therapia | |
Saturday. 12th October [1878]. Henry went away after luncheon to see the Sultan. I played tennis with the secretaries. May went away to Candilli to stay 2 nights with Mrs Willie Hanson. In the afternoon Mr Kennedy showed me a telegram from Lord Salisbury saying the Queen gives me permission to accept the order of Mercy. Henry returned to dinner. Sir C. & Lady Dickson dined with us. | |
