14 October 1878 — Therapia
Monday. 14th [October 1878]. I painted all the morning. While we were at luncheon May Boyd & Mrs Willy turned up. I went out for a drive with Henry as far as Mashlak. It was a lovely day & the hills were beautifully coloured with purple heather and brown dead fern. The others stayed & played tennis. I meant to have gone fishing with Mr Smijth but no caique was ordered. Ct Zichy, the Parnis & Mr Kennedy dined with us. In the eveng Lord Donoughmore & Mr Cartwright joined us & we sang & made a good deal of noise trying over quartetts.
