29 October 1878 — Therapia | |
Tuesday. 29th [October 1878]. Up to breakfast. Painted in the garden. Mrs W. Hanson came to luncheon & then played tennis with May. I sat at home & painted. Had a visit from Mrs Parnis. Before dinner Mr Harrison arrived to dine & sleep. He has been set out to arrange Turkish Finance. A respectable old party but horridly silent. At last I gave him the last newspaper & fled. Mr Foster, Sir Alfred, Mr Smith & Mr Kennedy dined. Had music in the eveng. | |
