1 November 1878 — Therapia | |
Friday. 1st November [1878]. I & Hill went down to town in the mouche at abt 9.30. We called at Candilli & took up Mrs Henry & Mrs Willie & Hilda Hanson & Mrs Willie’s baby & 2 nurses & went on to town to christen the baby. We arrived rather late and the baby cried loudly during the service. I, Mr Black & Mr Chermside were sponsors. The child was “Bertram Evelyn.” I stayed to Communion afterwards. Went to lunch with Aimée d’Ehrenhoff & her father—met there Mlle Wallstrom the Govss a nice person. After lunch Aimée & I went to our house & met Hill & after seeing to some things we went to Mehemet Ali Khan at 3 o’cl & there met Mrs Hanson. & we came home dropping the baby & Mrs Hanson at Candilli. Rested & taught Jerry. Captain Kay, Capt. McCalmont, Mr Smijth & Mr Kennedy dined with us. | |
