9 February 1879 — Constantinople
Sunday. 9th [February 1879]. We had to give up going to Therapia to spend the day & sleep at Patale’s as we had arranged both on Henry’s acct & on acct of the weather wh was muggy & misty—& Henry was very ill all day. Dr Patterson says it is a break down of the nervous system from over work. I stayed in all day. Zichy called & was allowed to see Henry a few moments– Ld Donoughmore dined with Mr Mallet & May with Mrs Willy & I had tea up in my boudoir. Henry passed a bad night.
