11 April 1879 — Inwood, Henstridge, Somerset
Friday. 11th [April 1879]. Good Friday. We walked to Henstridge Church in the bitterest cold I ever felt. The wind was cutting. Went over the stables Merthyr has 24 horses. Theo’s are at Matcombe. It was too cold to go out after lunch. Had a long talk with Merthyr & he was very nice. He showed me his house & all his things. Gertie came & sat with me in the eveng.
