18 July 1879 — Therapia | |
Friday. 18th [July 1879]. Sat out & read; began Creasy’s Ottoman Turks. After lunch we went out in the big caique. Generals Hamley & Dickson & Mr Bland going with us & we went to the Sweet Waters of Asia where we disembarked close to the Kiosque there were a good many Turkish women sitting there. We met Mrs Arthur Hanson & Dot & Mrs Willie & Kathleen & walked with them to the bridge & the little river & in the large field there we made our tea & then came home. Sir Alfred, Mr Smijth & Mr Ashburnham dined with us. Blanche sang in the evening. | |
