4 September 1879 — Therapia
Thursday. 4th [September 1879]. I copied music for B all the morning. She & May practised together. Alice had a Greek lesson. Pss Halim & her 2 daughters came to see me & stayed abt 2 hours. She is going to Paris & London & we talked a deal on the subject & she asked me to ask Mrs Walker to go as her dame to compagnie. When she was gone Henry came & sat with me in the boudoir a little & then Montholon called—after wh I went to my own room & wrote to Emilia & sent her letters of introduction for Venice. May left us & returned to Candilli. Mr Kirkness the admirals secy dined with us. As Blanche, Alice & E. had had a long ride in the afternoon they were rather tired & we did not have much music.
