12 December 1879 — Constantinople | |
Friday. 12th [December 1879]. It was not quite so cold & it thawed so that the snow disappeared. I spent the morning with Giovanni arranging silks &c for a screen. Mr Washington called to talk of the proposed chapel at Therapia– The Hobarts & dined with us. Sat in the billiard room after dinner & Henry played. | |
