24 June 1880 — Langham House, Portland Place
Thursday. 24th [June 1880]. The Riaños called in the morng. I went out driving with Blanche. Had a visit from Sir Patrick & Lady Colquhoun. He is a funny little bent old man. She seemed like a greek. B. & I went shopping & then went to Lady L. Ponsonby’s to tea & had buns & strawberries & met several ladies there– Lady Stewart & Lady Rawlinson &c &c. We left early as it became so dark & we tried to get to Blanche’s before the storm wh we did not quite manage & I waited at her house till it cleared & then walked home– We dined at home & went early to bed.
