9 August 1880 — Langham House, Portland Place
Monday. 9th August [1880]. Wrote letters &c in the morning. Blanche lent me her victoria & I went to Susan Hambros & fetched her to drive with me. Saw Susan’s sister Mrs Currie & Lina Okeden (Susan’s daughter). We drove to Clapham to the Jesuits College to try & see Clarita Hunts little boy. I found he had returned to Spain to his mother. So we drove home again calling at the Murano Glass shop for my Burano lace wh I found had arrived from Venice for me. I then took Susan home & returned to Langham House myself as Blanche’s carriage was to go to the station to meet her as she was to return this eveng from Milton. We dined at home & went early to bed.
