12 August 1880 — Langham House, Portland Place | |
Thursday. 12th August [1880]. Blanche & the children came to bid us goodbye directly after breakfast & by 11 o’cl train Henry & I started for Paris. The M. went to the station to see us off. We had a splendid crossing fm Folkstone to Boulogne in a new boat the Albert Victor & I had a nice deck cabin but my head ached till I got to Amiens from the fatigue of yesterday. However by the time we got to Paris (8.15) I was better & made a good dinner. | |
