26 September 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 26th [September 1880]. I went to the service in the Contarini Palace at 11.30. Met Miss Drake there– At 2 we went to the Beau Rivage & picked up the Drakes & took them to the Armenian Convent. It was fine but not sunny. After visiting the library &c we went on to the Lido—landed & went across to the Bathing establishment & then came home bringing Miss Drake with us– Sir Wm came later & they dined with us. Henry went out with them in the eveng. I went to bed as my feet hurt me—with corns & standing abt unpacking so much these last days. | |
