30 September 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 30th September [1880]. Sir Wm & Miss Drake lunched with us & afterwards we went to Murano. Miss D. & I followed the 2 gentlemen. We did not take long getting there—we sat in front of the furnaces watching the men at work. I took the tea basket & we made some tea there at 4 o’clock to the great amusement of the glass blowers. I gave Pancianello some tea & he said it was the first time he had ever tasted it. We went back to the “stabilimento” & there parted with the Drakes till dinner time when they came & dined with us. Went to the Piazza.
