17 October 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 17th [October 1880]. I went to morng service. After lunch the Drakes came & we went out in the gondola to the Giardino Publico & took a walk. Saw a carriage drawn by 2 of the thinnest horses I ever saw driving round & round with children & people. Went round home by the Giudecca & some small canals to look at some curious old houses. Home to tea. Drakes & Malcolm dined. Henry went out with them in the eveng. I stayed at home. | |
