13 November 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 13th November [1880]. Spence came & we painted all the morning. Directly after luncheon we went out to Guggenheims & we looked at some of his things. He gave us an old engraved stone for a seal with the Capello arms on it. We went on to see some pictures belonging to a man near the Stabilimento so called Giorgiones Titians &c &c. We then rowed round the Arsenal in search of the sunset but we were too late & got home rather late & cold. Spence dined & we sat in the studio after dinner & when S. was gone Henry & I played dominos. | |
