15 November 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 15th [November 1880]. Guggenheim came to see our house—& went into ecstasies over our things. Later came Spence & had his last sitting for Henry’s portrait & almost directly after lunch he went away to leave for Treviso at 3. Henry took him to the hotel. I remained at home to get on with my copy of the Moroni portrait & worked till abt 4—then tidied up the room. After dinner went over the lace book translation with Henry & then copied some of it out till bed time–
