10 March 1881 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 10th [March 1881]. Spent the morng getting a room prepared for Dr Nevin & changing the arrangement of the furniture in my studio. Cortelazzo turned up to stay with us from Vicenza. Giovanni sent to station at 4.15 to meet Dr Nevin & brought him home. As soon as he arrived we took him to the Piazza for a little walk & I took Ongania the notes I had translated for him. Came home. Tea– Mr Malcolm dined with us. Practised lace making & chatted with Cortelazzo. Bed early.
