Walked back to Mansfield Street & called on Susan who I found at home & then to Langham House– After lunch I went to the dentist to get my gum looked to—paid some visits & returned to Langham House for tea at 5. Blanche also came there. Fred & Ida Layard came & later Mr & Mrs Oldfield; when they had all gone I went to Savile Row & took up my abode there. Henry dined with Sir Henry Thompson at one of his octaves. Monty & I dined at home together. Henry returned abt 11.30 & said he had had a very pleasant evening & Sir Hy had made a speech over the ham wh he said had been 3 days in Madeira of 47. | |
