Thursday. 31st [March 1881]. Had a busy morng unpacking & putting things in order. At 11 Blanche came & we went out together in a cab to Maples’ to choose cretonnes for curtains &c. I came home to luncheon. Maria came to see me & Mrs Burr & also Susan Hambro. We dined at Langham House & met Sir Collingwood & Lady Dickson, Mr Fergusson, Mr Cartwright, Alice Du Cane, Fred & Raymond Layard. | |
