Alice lunched with me & we went shopping after– The Governess fetched her at 5 & I sent them in the carriage to the station. Visit from Mr Dawson who had been our chaplain at Madrid also from Mr Ross of Bladensburg. Arthur dined with us & Mrs Burr & we had a quiet evening’s talk. Mrs Burr has been to see Lady Hammond who sent me word it was all right about our going to Rome & I need not be alarmed at Sir A. Paget’s sudden appearance in England. | |
