Monday. 16th [May 1881]. Henry & I drove off abt 11.30 to the Royal Naval College at Greenwich to lunch with Admiral & Lady Hornby. Met Col. & Mrs Lyon & D. Fred. Hurst the chief professor—a very peculiar looking man—tall & gaunt with long black hair. We stayed with them till 3.30 & then I took Henry to the Atheneum & came on home. The 2 Lindseys, 2 Thomsons, 2 Hankeys, 2 Rates, Mrs Rd Bruce & Mr Morgan dined with us & Monty. Arthur came in the evening. Felicia played the piano to us. | |
