22 June 1881 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 22nd June [1881]. After breakfast Henry & I went out & bought waterproof boots &c for our Norwegian trip. I walked on alone to Cawthornes to order some books & then home– Kate, Constance, Blanche, Monty, Merthyr & Luff were all here to lunch & we were a merry party. Henry went out to lunch. Afterwards Blanche took me driving & shopping & then we returned to tea at 5. Mme Castellani & Maria came to tea. Had a visit from Lady Somers anxious to know abt our journey to Norway & not quite satisfied that it was prudent for Henry so far away from Drs. I say I feel the total change will do him good. Genl. Hankey & Ed Ponsonby dined with us. Blanche & Kate Ponsonby came in the evening.
