25 August 1881 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 25th August [1881]. Hotter than ever! Painted in the morning– Lunch at 1.30. Henry went to Murano to the Glass works. I sat at home & began to make the white curtains for the studio, and read. Dined at 7. Went out to the Piazza & took ½ hour’s walk. Came home & played cribbage– New waiter Ballista came from Milan. | |
