27 September 1881 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 27th September [1881]. I worked hard at modelling all the morning till 12 but I had a headache & had to give up every thing & lie down in my room in the dark. There I remained all day only getting up for dinner. After dinner we went to see the Castellanis at the Grand Hotel but they were out so we went to the Piazza to look for them & there found them. We took a little walk with them & then we returned to the gondola & went to call on the Edens & sat a little while with them, Mr Eden being as always on his back. We went home early & to bed. | |
