3 November 1881 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 3rd November [1881]. Had a headache & could not do much. Connie & Charlie went out walking with Mrs Eden. I stuck despatches while Bee & Evely tidyed my studio. After lunch they all went out & I remained at home & stuck despatches. Mr & Mrs Parker came to call & also Baron Warsberg—then Lady Bagot & her girl and also Genl. & Mrs Fane & we had quite a large party for 5 o’cl T, but I had such a headache I had to lie down afterwards & only managed to struggle thro’ dinner going to bed very early.
