6 December 1881 — Turin | |
Tuesday. 6th December [1881]. We started in the same fog by 8.40 train & it was only when we got near the Cenis tunnel that we got clear of the mist. We breakfasted at Modane & met our friend the traffic manager M. Quinicelli who was most attentive and obliging. We had places in the sleeping car today from Turin to Paris & as there were very few travellers the conducteur gave us the 4 bedded compartment at night so we were very comfortable. I made myself tea at Culoz & we dined at Macon. | |
