7 December 1881 — Paris | |
Wednesday. 7th December [1881]. We arrived at Paris at 6 in the morning not much fatigued. M. Belard met us & we went to Hotel St Romain had T & went to bed till 11. Got up & had breakfast & then Henry went to see Lord Lyons. Found Constance, Charlie & the girls at the Hotel. Henry fetched me abt 2 & took me to DuCroquet where he chose me a warm dress—went on to bonnet shop & ordered a bonnet. Then to the Weisweillers & we found the Baroness at home. She begged us to go to dine with them tomorrow & we accepted. We went back to the hotel & I made myself some tea. At 6 Henry & I, Connie & Charlie walked to Champeaux where we made an excellent dinner & then went to the Palais Royale to see a piece called “Divorçons.” It was wonderfully well acted tho’ abt the most improper piece possible. Chaumont acted most wonderfully well– We walked home– | |
