15 December 1881 — Langham House, Portland Place | |
Thursday. 15th December [1881]. I had breakfast in my room & afterwards went out to 15 Queen Anne St to see Blanche– Found her just going to be churched. She was not long away & I waited till her return– Alice Du Cane came there. Henry & I went in B’s brougham to Savile Row. We found our rooms very pretty but the whole house in confusion thro’ the drains being arranged. I walked back to Q. Anne St & Henry & I both lunched there. Afterwards I went out driving with B. We went to Gorringe’s & then to Heaths where I bought a hat for country wear– Blanche being very tired she went home to rest & I went to Lang. Hse & read till dinner time when Henry returned from the club & we dressed & returned to Q. Anne St & dined there—returned home at 11. | |
